Welcome to SAREEA
Environmental Education and Action for Children and Families.
SAREEA is a community group based in Hastings and St Leonards, East Sussex.
It was set up in April 2007 by people interested in environmental issues and working with children, young people and families and others in their local community.
SAREEA runs workshops and other activities using the creative learning methods of art, drama, games, story telling, music and film.
These activities aim to inform and empower children and young people to make a positive contribution in their communities, in relation to global environmental concerns.
Subjects include:
- REDUCING WASTE, LITTER and CARBON FOOTPRINT
- RECYCLING and REUSING
- SAVING ENERGY and WATER
- GROWING and COMPOSTING
- LOOKING AFTER WOODLANDS and NATURAL SPACES
- CARING FOR CREATURES IN ALL NATURAL SETTINGS
SAREEA is committed to encouraging families and children to explore, enjoy and have fun in open spaces like woods and the beach. We also aim to help children connect and learn to love and care for natural environments.
An 'Awards for All' grant has enabled SAREEA to run Fun Environmental Workshops and a Gardening Project during 2008.
